The Name of Jesus - Part 1

John 16:23 "And in that day you will ask Me nothing. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you.

John 16:24 Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full." (NKJV)

The Name of Jesus is a key that we've been given in prayer that will unlock every door.

At the beginning of verse 23 Jesus said, 'In that Day' we would ask Him nothing but rather ask the Father in His Name. We are living in 'that day'.

It is the day of the New Covenant.

Jesus has already gone to Calvary for us, defeated the enemy, is risen from the dead and seated at the right hand of the Father far above all principality, power, might and dominion. (Ephesians Chapters 1&2)

He has been given the Name that is above every Name!

Jesus knew that He would represent us before the Father and that we could ask the Father anything according to His will in His Name and it would be done for us.

Let's meditate on what the Name of Jesus means to us and use it in confidence when we pray, knowing that whatever we ask the Father in Jesus’ Name He will give us.
