We're told to put on our new nature that is created in Christ Jesus. When we receive Jesus, we receive a new nature. Our spirit is created new.
However, we don't just walk in the fullness of that if we don't know about it. We have to think differently.
"Now you're dressed in a new wardrobe. Every item of your new way of life is custom-made by the Creator, with his label on it. All the old fashions are now obsolete." Colossians 3:10 (MSG)

When I first met my husband, he had just moved back from a tropical country, so the ONLY things he had to wear in a cold climate were the clothes he'd stored in his mother's wardrobe from 10 years ago!
His fashion was obsolete, though it might be classed as vintage and valuable now!
We don't need to wear vintage clothing that belongs to our old nature before we came into Christ.
Picture what you have in Christ as a beautiful new set of custom clothes that you get to put on every day. Being in Christ means we can act like Christ in our daily lives, with His ability. But it requires that we walk in those clothes on purpose.
We have access to:
a. His love b. His forgiveness c. His patience d. His peace e. His kindness and more.
How do we put it on?
We acknowledge that it's ours through releasing words e.g.
"I thank you Lord that I am in Christ. Your love is in my heart and I will know the leading of your Holy Spirit today".
or
"Thank you Lord that you call me righteous today, I am righteous in Christ. I put off all sin and shame. I stand before you clothed in righteousness. You've made me righteous."
WOW!!! What a difference that makes to our lives as we practice it daily. The Bible calls it transformation through mind renewal. (Romans 12:2).
If we live like that..., if we habitually practice living in who we truly are in Christ, we'll walk in victory and peace every day, despite circumstances.
And the more we practice it the more we'll be changed by the Truth of God's Word telling us of who we are in Christ.
